Being Peace Meditation

Join Reverend Emily Martin, mindfulness meditation teacher and student of Vietnamese Buddhism, on Thursday mornings. This community meditation is open and free (donations accepted) for all to participate. The meditation includes some guidance, including visualizations, and some time sitting in silence. Emily interweaves nature imagery and Buddhist philosophy. Collectively, we will rest in the present moment, cultivating peace within ourselves. Community Meditation and Book Club Join us for a bi-monthly, free community meditation and book discussion at the Hood River Adult Center.

During the class, we will connect with each other, practice meditation, and discuss The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World which is written by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu.  The class runs for one hour from 11 am to noon on the following Fridays: December 13 and 27, January 3 and 17, February 7 and 21, March 7 and 21, and April 4 and 18.

Join Emily Martin, Mindfulness Teacher and Forest Bathing Guide, for a mindful nature walk at Catherine Creek Accessibility Trail. Emily will lead the group through a series of mindful practices, including simple meditations and sensory exercises designed to enhance our connection to this beautiful place we call home. Slowing down and being present in nature has tremendous health benefits. During our walk, there will be time for introspection as well as time to connect with each other. This event is open to all, and we welcome individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels.
